Rajiv Mukherjee takes time out for social invitations even with a hectic schedule because he enjoys meeting people...

Being in a distribution business which deals with travel and tourism, marketing, real estate, solutions, advertising and promotion, socialising comes naturally to me. My job requires it a lot and I am always at ease with it. Since I do not follow the strict 10 to 5 pattern at work, socialising outside office is a rare thing. Most of my time is spent working during the weekdays.

As I wrap up my work, it’s time for bonding with colleagues.
Having said that, when I do take an off occasionally am entirely devoted to my family. A trip once every two-three months is like a breather in this fast faced corporate life. I make sure that when I am with my family I give them undivided attention. Phone calls and office work are the last thing on my mind then, unless it’s an urgent one. So work does invade my private life but I try my best to keep them at bay.
Holidays are gala affairs with the family. We have together travelled to Singapore, Malaysia, Europe and the US. Closer home Puri, Digha and Mondarmoni have been our favourite haunts.

Apart from travelling what keeps me engaged during my off days is meeting up with old school friends. We bond over good food and make it a point to meet up for lunch or dinner very often. Holding conversations with people from various backgrounds have honed my people’s skills a lot. I am always at ease when I have to talk to someone, writing doesn’t interest me much. So blogging and writing doesn’t feature in my leisure hours. Instead while travelling I like to pick up a book that can keep me occupied throughout the journey, especially when I am on my own.

Working with complete dedication and enjoying with all is what keeps me going. I try and attend all social invitations because meeting people is something I enjoy. Healthy living not only adds on more years to your life but also keeps you ticking throughout the day. So I make sure to visit the gym and swim for sometime before staring the day. This is how I de-stress when not working.
