Choosing a Mac was almost a religion change for Sidharth Jhunjhunwala...
In general, shopping is not my cup of tea, but if I had to recall my most memorable last buy, it would have to be the Apple Macbook. I have been brought up with Windows and everyone in India has looked up to Bill Gates. Web Spiders itself has one of the largest and finest group of Microsoft programmers and personally I have done a lot of programming on Microsoft platform.
So when it came to changing my laptop, choosing a Mac was almost a religion change. My colleagues in the Mac team almost had a cult-like devotion and were always persuading me to join the group. After some resistance I took the leap.
It turned out as the most joyous buy I had ever made. The Mac made the hardware part vanish away in the sense that it seemed I was directly ‘touching the software’. My laptop would boot up almost in an instant, no crashes, I didn’t have to wait for any memory or processor issues, Wi Fi and printers always connected in a snap and I saved hours every week from doing non-productive system tasks.
For over six months now, we have disconnected the TV. Hence, the Mac is my only gateway for both work and use at home. It definitely scores brilliantly on both fronts. Of course with the rise of everything on Web, it helps in cross-compatibility in windows but even MS Office is better on Mac. As a true fan, I have been able to convince many to make the big ‘switch’.
